Non-governmental actors such as non-governmental organizations and companies are increasingly involved in the processes of standard-setting, implementation and enforcement that take place there. The textbook introduces the work of the UN and takes into account the entry of global governance into the organization by developing an analytical framework for examining new modes of global governance and focusing on five selected areas (peacekeeping, arms control and disarmament, human rights protection, development policy and environmental policy ) applies.
