Is overrated Forever 21

Oasis - Awesome or Overrated?

28.11.2012 - 15:58

I need very objective opinions from the community!
I would like to deal with the band (of course much too late ^^⁾ and I need opinions that should be cooler and more objective after all the hype and the breakup. Simply a very general creed, as nerds find the troupe that way.
;)

28.11.2012 - 15:58

Brilliant. Point off.

28.11.2012 - 16:07

totally overrated monkeys.

28.11.2012 - 16:11

oh no, you're back with your annoying grunsatzthreads!
topic: they are still pretty bland, always the same guitars and vocals, definitely not mine.

28.11.2012 - 16:15

boozy rock. the best times are long ago

28.11.2012 - 16:21

beyond innovative, but still music that the world could take.

Mob hit it pretty well.

28.11.2012 - 16:43

student music e.g. thesis uhlmann

28.11.2012 - 17:20

... on its own in the discography: BE HERE NOW is your best album for me! All other albums have worn themselves out.

28.11.2012 - 18:14

@ mob

So Noel's albums as well as the Beady Eye album have shown that they still have it ...

28.11.2012 - 18:18

Definitely Maybe is your best!
The weakest is Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants despite a handful of outstanding songs (but unfortunately also some half-baked fillers).
Don't Believe The Truth and Dig Out your Soul were really good albums.

Beady Eye was really weak, Noel's High Flying Birds was great.

Conclusion on Oasis as a whole - ingeniously simple, simply ingenious

28.11.2012 - 18:41

For me, the weakest remains Don´t Believe the Truth. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants was my first Oasis album and therefore has a certain bonus. But definitely listen to Oasis. There really is no better band drunk.

28.11.2012 - 18:46

... and sober there is no worse.

28.11.2012 - 20:20

inconsequential pop music, mercilessly overrated

28.11.2012 - 22:39

I just have no idea

28.11.2012 - 22:39

I just have no idea

28.11.2012 - 22:55

For me, the weakest remains Don´t Believe the Truth. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants was my first Oasis album and therefore has a certain bonus. But definitely listen to Oasis. There really is no better band drunk.

I can go along with that. O! A! SIS!

28.11.2012 - 23:13

inconsequential pop music, mercilessly overrated

28.11.2012 - 23:19

Every now and then I had a few nice songs, but I never needed them for album length. But I can understand that they could make a fan happy ...

29.11.2012 - 01:39

Definitely maybe 8.5 / 10
Morning Glory 9/10
be here now 8-8.5 / 10
The master plan 8.5 / 10
Standing on the shoulders 7.5 / 10
Heathen chemistry 7/10
Don't belive the truth 6.5 / 10
Dig out your soul 7.5 / 10

In the 90s they were just the best band next to Pumpkind. And XTRMTR is right: there's nothing better when you're drunk. just the first 4 mentioned

29.11.2012 - 01:44

Walk home drunk and swaying with 'Be Here Now' in your ears ... priceless, or clear 10/10. Megalomania all! :)

29.11.2012 - 08:07

I always read here only "drunk". If you have to chronically drink up the music of a band, then that says a lot. Overestimated to the power of five.

29.11.2012 - 09:30

As a fagot who only likes pitch garbage like Sufjan Stevens or Animal Collective, I can't understand that. Besides that, I'm celebrating Scott Walker's latest crap.

29.11.2012 - 10:18

So the faker is also homophobic.
Unsurprisingly, I have to admit.

You don't give a shit about my sexual orientation, right?

Oasis are overrated, no matter who or what I pop.

29.11.2012 - 10:57

PS: I only know Poppen from television, of course, but I still feel somehow superior to most people.

OK ?

29.11.2012 - 11:08

Definitely maybe 6/10
Morning Glory 7/10
Be here now 9/10
The master plan 7/10
Standing on the shoulders 6/10
Heathen chemistry 7/10
Don't believe the truth 4/10
Dig out your soul 7/10

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Circus 7/10

And yet: "Wonderwall" is and remains her best! Spent a few days in London in 1996, when someone in the underground was playing that thing on the guitar, it was really awesome (before I didn't like the song at all)! Nice memory!

And of course "Don't Look Back in Anger" reminds me of the beautiful EM in 1996 (the song was always in the credits on ZDF).

Absolute oversongs:

"Live Forever"
"Wonderwall"
"Morning Glory"
"D 'Ya Know What I Mean?"
"Magic Pie"
"Don't Go Away"
"All Around The World"
"Underneath The Sky"
"Little By Little"
...
and then it will be thin ...! Somehow it was over with the boys afterwards. But sometimes there is nothing better than this characteristic sound.

Back then I was also a BLUR fan, but found the two bands hardly comparable. You can only listen to "13" of them in retrospect.

29.11.2012 - 11:11

And yet: "Wonderwall" is and remains her best!

Not even remotely. :)

29.11.2012 - 11:15

I just can't help it! Keep getting me this song!

Like "Careless Whisper" by George Michael. This is completely belly controlled.

29.11.2012 - 12:15

PS: I only know Poppen from television, of course, but I still feel somehow superior to most people.

OK ?

Is that all you can fake Practice, practice, practice! :-)

29.11.2012 - 12:22

Is that all you can fake Practice, practice, practice! :-)

Yes you fagot, that's all. I'm pretty mediocre, just like Oasis.

29.11.2012 - 15:44

Just to clarify: I'm really only mediocre, but I still feel somehow superior! Without this phenomenon, my normality, which is coming to light in every nook and cranny, would drive me insane. I have to stand out from the crowd, I'm something better!

29.11.2012 - 15:58

Do you now speak of yourself as a mediocre faker or is that another (actually even below average) attempt to fake me? With all the mediocrity here, the difference is hardly noticeable.

29.11.2012 - 16:16

Walk home drunk and swaying with 'Be Here Now' in your ears ... priceless, or clear 10/10. Megalomania all!

That hits it very well. ^^

Definitely Maybe - 9.0 / 10
(What's The Story) Morning Glory? - 9.0 / 10
Be Here Now - 8.5 / 10 (apart from the mentioned situation)
Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants - 7.0 / 10
Heathen Chemistry - 6.5 / 10
Don't Believe The Truth - 6.5 / 10
Dig Out Your Soul - 8.0 / 10 (strong graduation)

The Masterplan - 8.0 / 10

Solo:

Beady Eye - Different Gear, Still Speeding - 6.0 / 10
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - dto. - 7.5 / 10

29.11.2012 - 16:40

"Champagne Supernova" and "D´Ya Know What I Mean?" I consider their best songs. Almost 8 minutes of horny rock n roll each time. Funnily enough, they even come exactly one after the other in the discography (last song Morning Glory and first song Be Here Now). In 96/97 they were already at their peak.

29.11.2012 - 17:02

Definitely Maybe 10/10
Morning Glory 9/10
Be here now 9.5 / 10
The masterplan 9/10
Standing on the shoulders 7/10
Heathen chemistry 7/10
Don't believe the truth 8/10
Dig out your soul 8/10

Beady Eye 6/10
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 7.5 / 10

29.11.2012 - 17:04

Exciting, my dear ...

29.11.2012 - 17:10

By exciting I meant "don't give a shit" and by my dear I meant "you wormed piece of monkey excrement".

29.11.2012 - 17:10

Definitely Maybe 10/10
Morning Glory 10/10
Be here now 9/10
The masterplan 9/10
Standing on the shoulders 8/10
Heathen chemistry 7/10
Don't believe the truth 6/10
Dig out your soul 8/10

Beady Eye - Different Gear, Still Speeding 4/10
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 8.5 / 10

29.11.2012 - 17:12

Genital

30.11.2012 - 02:45

Not only are Oasis overrated, Britpop itself is. The Oasis comparison to the Beatles has always been just ridiculous.
Weak songs, pointless bloated production.
Of course there are also bright spots in the range and with "Champagne Supernova" they created one of the best songs of the 90s. After all.

30.11.2012 - 04:12

brilliant band.

30.11.2012 - 15:31

INGENIOUS

Subject can be closed.

Please do not forget "Supersonic" for the trans-songs!
Beats songs like "Little By Little" by far.

And yes, I dare:
Please don't forget "Wonderwall" either, even if it has already been pampered 1,000 times.

30.11.2012 - 16:16

If I ever want to feel like the biggest asshole on God's green earth again, I just put on an Oasis album. You can't thank the troops enough for that alone.

30.11.2012 - 16:25

great band, i think they are cooler than blur even without innovations, because definitely maybe and morninglory parklife just fucks away.noel gallagher is one of the funniest rock stars anyway

30.11.2012 - 17:12

Walk home drunk and swaying with 'Be Here Now' in your ears ... priceless, or clear 10/10. Megalomania all! :)

Exactly!

16.12.2012 - 20:03

Best band ever!

16.12.2012 - 20:17

Drunk and drunk, he shouted "jooohr mei wonderwooooll" in the ears of his secret crush in the beer tent.

05.02.2013 - 13:07

Johnny Walker = MegatroII

05.02.2013 - 13:13
