Math HL is the hardest

Mathematics in the 12th!? (Canada)

  • So I've now switched to math class 12 ... at the beginning I didn't quite understand what it was about, because I just didn't notice the first three weeks ... well, now you can get along with it ... is also quite easy ...

  • I had math12 in Canada, but since I am totally math-free, I couldn't do it anyway, but I also didn't really bother ... if I couldn't do something now (and above all I couldn't handle the graphing calculator) then I didn't worry about that ... then I still had math11, and that was really easy, but if you have the time, at least a very good refresher on the maths knowledge from Germany from the 9th and 10th school year. ..

Whistler, BC, September 2004 - April 2005 --- Canada is fuckin awesome.

  • I will now change my course from grade 11 to grade 12

  • I'm in the maths 12 course and I can keep up with it ... was a bit confusing at the beginning, because I only switched to 11 after 2 hours, but this is exactly the right thing now. But I also have someone here who takes the Calculus (or something) course..that is even more difficult..Most of the Germans at my school are in 12th ... a few in eleven and that's probably really not difficult. well, I can say that much about it.

  • so math classes are really easy here. I also have the hardest from grade11, but I'm totally bored because I did everything last year. so if possible always take the hardest course.

  • yes, also my tip: always take the highest!
I'm also thinking about changing from the hardest math 11 to the hardest math 12, because it's sooo easy and I don't want to repeat

  • hey, I can only say how it is with me. I'm in BC at a private school and I have a course called APCalcules / Princepels of Math 12 and that is, so to speak, the most difficult that is offered and at the moment it is easy! even if you are rather bad at math in Germany. definitely do math 12! because you repeat everything you have ever done on the subject of graph anyway (9th, 10th grade)
    so this is my tip!

  • hihi, everyone looked at me like alien 3rd kind, when I said I want to take HL math .. and when I said that I enjoy math

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

  • So here I am in the absolutely 'most difficult' course of all ... they stupid me when I said, I want the hardest math course ... well, and now we're (still) doing what we did last year I hope it will be even more difficult ...

  • @ Alicia:
    What's it like in quebec?
I'm also totally interested in french canada ...
    Is school tough?

  • so .. with us there was:
Arts Math: secondary school level, it was about fractions and straight lines ..
Math: a bit more advanced, in the 12th they did what I had in the IB Math 12
IB Math SL: something high school
IB Math HL: very difficult, I was the only one who did it

in the 12th then Calculus, at the end of the day corresponds to what you do at the university in the 1st year * g *, but is part of the IB course, but math students can also take it.

and i would ALWAYS take the highest that is possible .. the requirements seem to vary from school to school

  • what now? in the 11th or 12th ??

  • probably really corresponds to what else I have heard.
I guess I'll need tutoring anyway when I get to 12 here. Math is not my thing.

  • ? in the 12th canadians do trigonometry (!?) HÄÄ ??

  • So, I'm in Québec, as you can easily see . and with me there are three courses, in the simplest one you do fractions, in the second simple equations and in the hardest, which i am in, you do trigonometry and such, what i did in tenth in germany

  • So: in my high school we had 4 different courses for the 12th grade.

one was for the very bad (secondary school)
    the other for normal academic
then somewhat heavier academic b (pre calculus)
then really dolle difficult advanced (calculus)

I had taken the last two kruse and now I have not done exactly that in the 12th Gymi, i.e. I have 15 points in the first test and now they start with differential calculation, which I have already dealt with extensively and I am super bored, because it's really easy and I'm in advanced maths ... so I can really recommend the latter courses, although I have to say that I really love math ...
well, otherwise you can also take 11th grade courses, but as I said, if you do 12th at Gymi and skip 11th and so ... so for everyone who wants to do LK! otherwise pre calculus is enough ... no idea

  • Hey I'm interested in flying to Canada for a year or so .. Since I'm relatively BAD at math, uh, I thought to myself I wonder what's going on in the 11th and 12th there in math !?

thank you in advance for the answer!

    greeting
    Bernd
